Fil n Mantis Proofs!

Woohoo!  the comic book proofs came in.  So we are a go for the print run.  Everything is aligned, the cover is correct and everything is in the right order.  It means I actually will hit my Dec 2013 deadline I promised.  And that means a ton to me.  Here's a quick flip through

Future Wizard

I wanted to create a future wizard.  We're always either in the past or present so I wanted to explore later down the road.

Vikingette

In case you haven't noticed, for all of August, my theme is females.  As most of my jobs right now are creatures, heros, villains, and space janitors I thought that whenever I drew or painted for me in August, it would be the female form in some way or another.  So, here's Vikingette.

San Diego Comic Con aftermath

SAN DIEGO COMIC CON!

Phew... Now THAT was awesome!....and exhausting...and loud...and the smells....but so so fun.
This was my first year in the exhibitor section and it was so great.  I was near my buddies and Julie and I got to have a little breathing room to sit.
I didn't get time to walk the floor, but I had enough time to witness this as I walked by....

San Diego is great.  Love the atmosphere, love the city.  I especially love my peers, my fans, my clients, and my friends.  A special thank you to Aishath Boskma who made my day with her kindness and words.  There were great conversations with many, but she said some things just at the perfect time to make my day.  I hope I passed that same feeling on to some of the others I spoke with during the con.  I only get to do this through all of the support you provide for me.  And it is a glorious thing.  I met some of my followers, I talked to a young artist on the phone in Alasaka, got a hug from old friends, and got kissed on the cheek by a drunk girl.  All in all, wicked fun was had.

Commissions kept flowing.  Some for fellow artists, some for random people who walked by, and one for a gallery in Paris.

Here are some of the highlights!

You can get these and many more on my instagram or tumblr feed!  Come follow

I got into some shenanigans with some amazing fellow artists and friends.
Mark "Cre8tive" Mcdonnell
Marcelo Vignali and adorable daughters
David Colman and company

It was an amazing adventure of a week.
Julie's dream came true....

Her Jewelry was a hit and people other than myself realized how special her talent is

So that's my report.  Great to see familiar faces, real faces to internet avatars, and new people just joining this program already in progress.  Time to sleep this off a bit.....

The Beans are out!

Bean

Through the morning fog, he waged.

Again,  Trying to get out of my comfort zone and design and paint like I don't normally go.  Let me know what you think.  Just needed a mental break from the style and property of Spaced Out.

Speed painting this morning

I just wanted to mess around in a completely different way.  I don't normally work like this but it's always good to break out of your norm, right?

The Kickstarter is LIVE! Spaced Out!

Hello all across the internet!  My official first ever Kickstarter is now underway.  I am beyond excited and happy to be this far along the adventure.  Please oh please won't you join me?

To be whisked away to learn more about the project, me, the video and lend some support in any way that you can.  Helping out on kickstarter is always appreciated but even if you only tweet, Facebook, or just plain yell it to someone I'd be enormously grateful.  I've been working on this in my off work hours for months and months and now that I am more than half way done I'd like to share it.  So head on over, more info aplenty.  C'mon, let's make it a quickstart!

As always, thanks for joining me on this crazy ride!

Cheers,
Bean

Orc

Another Image I created for Trendy Entertainment for Dungeon Defenders 2.  The character design was already done.  If I'm not mistaken the character designer is Danny Araya and art directed by Rusty Drake.  I got to "beef him up" and put him into a scene.  So all this artwork is mine, but design wise this was a task I usually find myself doing the pre-production parts and not this part.  A fun and very different task as I am normally working off of my own designs and such.  I got to do a few of them.  I will reveal the paintings I did as they do ;)

Gamma Worlds

You know, I have no idea if I ever posted these.  Done years ago for Gamma Worlds for Wizards of the Coast.  One of my first freelance jobs.

A blast from the past...

Backing up old files and finding old hard drives you find stuff from years and years ago.  Here's some of that....  It's an old game that years later would be turned into a mobile MMO.  It was originally called Blackstar.

Basically if you've made it to the bottom of this post...congrats.  This was only a smattering of the work I got to do on the project back in the day.  My first concept art job and I moved to Texas to do it.  I met some great friends and after all these years I continue to work freelance for the company off and on when the chance arises.  The game changed drastically.  So here, ya go.  Some good, some bad.
