A week off with Heads

I had a great week in Los Angeles and had the opportunity to sketch with some awesome folks in Culver City.  Big thank you to Marcel Spignali for making me feel at home and giving me some great pointers.  He was able to talk to his wife on the phone, give me tips on my portfolio, help the sketcher next to me on the necessity of figure drawing, and sketch a character all at the same time.....Most impressive.  Head over to his site if you haven't.  I also met a very helpful Kendra Melton http://kmillustration.blogspot.com/ who is a blast and another great artist.

Here's some of the sketches I did at various stops along my week.

Imagine FX article!

Imagine FX called me the John Bonham of sci fi cartoon creatures! That was unexpected and wicked awesome. He was the drummer for Led Zeppelin and one of my fav rock bands so that was fun to see. Huge thanks to the people there at Imagine FX for making such great 4 page spread. Clean images, great layout, they actually made me look professional.....ME.

Sketch work during bored times

I got these awesome Kuretake pens. In all of my mediums, this one feels the most fun and fluid to me. Give them a chance. They are awesome!

I haven't posted anything for a bit. I have 2 freelance jobs and a full-time gig right now. Heh, gig. When all is said and done hopefully I will have made a contribution to a great short film and made an entire card game for kids and adults. I will post pics and info as everything comes together. Thanks for lookin, It feeds my needs.
