Update and an image, boy oh boy!
OK, Hopefully from the last couple of years you know that I keep this blog updated often. The first few weeks of 2013 have been enormously busy. I will hopefully have work to show sooner rather than later but everything I am working on is under NDA and very Hush hush.
The life of a freelancer gets busy quick as since the last week in December I started working with Trendy Entertainment, Disney Interactive, Shadow Machine Animations, Bento Box, and one yet announced slug for Slugterra. That along with the holidays and such it's been overload of awesome. I'll be getting back to regularly scheduled blog posts with new art soon. Still hard at work on the graphic novel with plans for a new website redesign. Time to get serious with all my free time..... I plan on doing tutorials and free comics (one a week storyline etc) Not sure which is first. I'll post some Fil n Mantis tomorrow from the graphic novel to prove I'm still hard at work.
I'll leave you with this:
Burpy. The main slug from Slugterra. We went back and forth many many times and although he looks very different in the show, we had a much more adult Burpy for awhile. Some early explorations and the such. (and yes, Dave and Greg did so good on how they presented their concepts for the show I used the idea too)
Thanks again for stopping by and supporting me on the journey.

Slugterra slugs
Yes I know, more slugs. A smattering of the ideas and the final decisions. Some are spot on and some of the designs get major overhauls. I really wanted Crystalyd to be an older, senile, and blind tunneler but it didn't work out that way. Thresher started with chainsaw teeth but the overall idea morphed. I hope a gouled slug ends up with them teeth of doom... hopefully.

So What's Next?
So much is happening that I'm just going to type it all out here. I really started this blog for me to keep track of myself and then all of you decided to join me. And I thank you for it.
So We had an amazing Designer con
I got to hang out with some old friends, meet some new ones and even shake hands with some people that have somehow been influenced by my art. It's very nice and humbling to know that I've helped a fellow artist out along their journey. They do all the work but man, it's nice to know I helped in some small way.
The very next day after Designer Con, Julie debuted her Jewelry line. A smashing success at the Patchwork Indie faire.

She did amazing and I am so proud of her. Her art has come a huge long way and she puts in work hours that are astounding at times. And then on top of all of that, has to deal with me all the time. Hard, hard work.
AND ONTO THE FUTURE!
Next up is CTN Animation Expo! Nov 16th-18th in Burbank CA. It's probably my favorite convention out of them all. I will have a booth with originals, prints, art books, and myself. I will be doing a couple demos that weekend as well as a guest panel with the amazing artists; Torsten Schrank, Jose Lopez, John Nevarrez, Tony Siruno and then lil' ol' me on Saturday. It's always a good time if you can make it. Link to the panel http://m.guidebook.com/guide/2806/event/678916/
Other news:
- I am still hard at work on the original graphic novel and on goal to get a kickstarter happening the first week in January.
- I got to be a lead Designer on Slugterra which airs on Disney XD. Go check that out so there will be a season 2 with even more cool slugs!
Well, that's about it. Thanks everyone who visits, tweets, instas, shows up, facebooks, talks, buys, and supports this crazy journey I call a "career". It really does mean a lot to both Julie and I. So stop on by, say hello so I can keep putting names to avatar faces and I will see you online or in person.

So We had an amazing Designer con
It was a one day event in Pasadena Convention Center. We met lots of great new friends and found some amazing art and toys. Please check out Cody Williams and his Yetis at these cons. You won't be sorry. I have 2...... And he's a great guy, so win win. http://www.yetisandfriends.com/
We had a wonderful APE con as well.

Slugterra! NOW ON DISNEY XD
So I've been working with Nerd Corps. and Disney TV on a new show that debuted Oct. 15th. Slugterra. Super fun and I thought they all did a great job on the show. A pleasure to work with too. Special thanks to Eric Calderon for finding me and bringing me onto the show. And the rest of the crew Andy, Nancy, Rob, Ace, and company who were fun to work with on all the conference calls and meets. I will only post slugs that have shown up on the official website. More to come, promise. Watch the show and hopefully we can make more slugs for a season 2. Disney XD. SLUGTERRA SHOW LINK
More in the next few posts. Also I will not show the countless number of ideas that we went through as that's still useable. Meet me in person and I will have some original pages for sale. I may have gone through 200 sheets of designs at least 6 a page. Super fun. Let me know what you think.
